Vestra Coda is currently in early access, and this privacy policy may evolve as the game and its services develop. We'll always keep you informed of meaningful changes. Our guiding principle is simple: collect only what we need, protect what we have, and never exploit your data.
What We Collect
We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to run Vestra Coda and improve your experience.
- Account Information: Your email address, username, and password hash when you create a Shadow Dance Studios account. We never store plaintext passwords.
- Gameplay Data: Character progression, skill levels, inventory, quest completion, and in-game interactions. This is essential for saving your progress and running the game world.
- Device Information: Operating system version, hardware specifications, and graphics driver versions. We use this to diagnose crashes, optimize performance, and determine system requirements.
- Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized usage data such as session length, feature usage, and crash reports. This helps us understand how players interact with Vestra Coda so we can make it better.
How We Use It
- Game Operations: Running the game servers, saving your progress, processing in-game transactions, and delivering updates.
- Anti-Cheat: Detecting and preventing cheating, botting, and exploitation to keep the game fair for everyone.
- Improving the Experience: Identifying bugs, balancing gameplay, improving performance, and prioritizing new features based on how players actually play.
What We Don't Do
This part is just as important as what we do.
- We never sell your personal data to anyone. Period.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers or ad networks.
- We do not build advertising profiles based on your gameplay behavior.
- We do not share your data with data brokers.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on encrypted servers with industry-standard security practices. We use HTTPS for all communications, encrypt sensitive data at rest, and regularly audit our infrastructure for vulnerabilities. Access to personal data is restricted to team members who need it to operate the service.
No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise. But we take this seriously and invest in keeping your data safe.
Your Rights
You have control over your data. You can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you by contacting us.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Opt out of non-essential analytics through your account settings.
- Export your data in a portable format upon request.

Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate Vestra Coda:
- Cloudflare: Website hosting, DDoS protection, and privacy-focused web analytics.
- Payment Processors: When you make a purchase, your payment is handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your full credit card number.
We carefully vet any third-party service before integrating it, and we only work with providers that meet our privacy standards.
Children's Privacy
Vestra Coda is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@vestracoda.com and we will promptly delete it.
Changes to This Policy
As Vestra Coda grows from early access to a full release, this policy may be updated. When we make meaningful changes, we'll notify you through the game launcher and, where possible, via email. We'll never quietly reduce your privacy protections.
